We believe it is absolutely crucial to avoid greenwashing. The temptation to deceive is apparently great, but don’t put yourself and your organization onto that slippery slope. Fabrications and hyperbole will not fool an experienced observer for a minute or the general public for long.
That said, there is nothing wrong with being honestly and realistically aspirational. If your goals are embedded in a realistic strategy and your leadership and team are truly committed to achieving them, then it is fair to speak publicly about your accomplishments and ambitions.
